The role

In this role you will have the opportunity to utilise both frontend and backend skills across a number of client-focused digital projects. You’ll work directly with Sift Digital clients and will play a key part in defining solutions we build for them. You’ll be able to accurately estimate and plan development projects and work with smaller and larger teams as projects demand.

You’ll need to be a creative thinker and be able to apply user experience principles at all phases in a project. We expect nothing less than great team players who are able to work with diverse teams and clients, keen to learn new skills and help others do the same.

Key requirements

  • Frontend and backend development work primarily using Drupal
  • Accurately estimating and planning development projects
  • Devising technical solutions to meet client requirements with time and budget constraints
  • Collaboration with User Experience and Design teams on solutions
  • Reviewing wireframes and designs to understand implementation detail
  • Working directly with clients to scope, define and develop solutions
  • Sharing expertise and knowledge with other members of the team
  • Helping shape development processes, tools and practices
  • Supporting existing sites with additional development work and bug fixes

Expertise

  • Understanding of server side programming, database technologies, limitations and performance
  • Considering and applying UX principles at all phases in a project
  • Full understanding and practical application of accessibility standards and best practices
  • Understanding of frontend development and technologies including CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript and fonts/typography

Technical Skills

  • Drupal site building experience
  • Expert with the Drupal theming layer
  • 2-3 years+ HTML/CSS, HTML5/CSS3 and Javascript
  • Stacks of LAMP experience including command line
  • Experience with Git and branching strategies
  • Ability to write secure code and adhere to Drupal Coding Standards
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices

Would be a bonus

  • Symfony
  • CRM Integration experience
  • Architecture of large scale Drupal projects
  • Experience building APIs
  • Data security and data protection
  • Experience with Drupal hosting and deployment processes
